There Is No Middle Ground!
Steve Tecklenberg has been cooperating
with ENM member Siegbert Riecker (Germany) and their mutual friend Pawel Kugler (Poland) in developing a new discipleship and apologetics
conference series. The premise and title of the
conference are found in Psalms 100:5, "For the Lord is
good, His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to
all generations."
What separates Biblical Christianity from every other
"religion"? Among the many possible answers to this
question, certainly a major one is the fact that the
Judeo-Christian God has revealed Himself in and through
the facts of history.
The Bible places a heavy emphasis on the
descriptions of historical events, not only to impart
factual knowledge, but primarily to provide a framework
by which we can understand the nature, character and
activities of God. The obvious implication is that the
Bible's relevance and authority ultimately rises or
falls on whether or not its historical narratives are
factual.
In that spirit, the "Enduring Truth" conference will
take a careful look at three key historical events upon
which the whole of Christian doctrine stands: the
Creation, the Exodus from Egypt, and the Resurrection of
Christ. After an introductory session in which this
principle will be presented, these three great events
will be evaluated in depth to support their historicity
and their fundamental importance to Christian doctrine.
The desire behind "Enduring Truth" is to 1) encourage
believers that their faith is based on facts, and thus
perfectly reasonable 2) to present non-believers with
the choice that they must either repent and surrender to
the Lordship of Christ, or deny clear facts of history
if they refuse.
We earnestly desire your prayers for this endeavor. Each
presenter has been working very hard to achieve the
highest levels of accuracy and clarity. There is also
much work to be done "backstage", especially
coordinating with other Christian organizations in
Poland to encourage attendance.
Above all, please pray that "Enduring Truth" will be
effective in achieving its ultimate goals - that God
would be glorified, His people encouraged and His
Kingdom extended as His Word is upheld before friend and
foe alike.
